Exhibition 2011
Our very first exhibition was held in Kelso Town Hall from Saturday 23 April to Saturday 30 May. The exhibition was opened by Alastair Hutton,
Convener of Scottish Borders Council and a total of 90 prints and a 15 minute long slideshow were viewed by over 400 visitors!
Feedback from visitors was universally complimentary and they were also most generous with donations contributing over £200 which
will be sent to ORCHID, a charity to support male cancers.
29 club members submitted pictures and the subjects were many and varied, reflecting the interests and experiences of members. The quality of
printing was superb, thanks to Bill Hume who printed almost all the pictures and guaranteed the best quality possible. Presentation was also
consistent throughout as nearly all the pictures were mounted identically with mounts supplied by Denise Playfair of the Vennel Gallery.
The club would like to thank both Bill and Denise for their excellent work, helping to ensure a professional and well-presented exhibition!
Our thanks also to all those who did a stint in attendance.
All in all, a very successful first exhibition and we hope that next year's exhibition will be bigger and better with even more members
contributing images! Although everything ran smoothly we are happy to hear suggestions for any ways in which we can improve the exhibition next year.
Just email or give a note to any of the usual suspects aka comittee members!!
